On Friday, Feb. 1 around 11:!5 p.m., New York State Police responded to Lexington Avenue in the town of Cortlandt on the report of a domestic dispute. The caller claimed that the suspect was holding her hostage and actively shooting at her.

After further investigation by the State Police, Westchester Police Department, Yorktown Police Department and K9 units, it was determined that no shots had been fired in the area.

The caller, identified as 47-year-old Latascha N. Kelly of Cortlandt, had left the scene and later told investigators over the phone that she no longer wanted assistance, police said.

It was then determined that Kelly had engaged in a domestic dispute and then falsely reported the incident to Westchester County 911 in an attempt to incriminate the victim, according to police

Kelly was arrested and charged with third-degree false report of an incident, a Class A misdemeanor.

Kelly was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to the town of Cortlandt Court on Monday, Feb. 11.
